Offtopic trip to Colmar

“You see only what you know”

This was the purpose of the trip, led by Prof. Dr. Zerr, who took us on a trip to Colmar where we
went to see the Isenheimer winged altar. This altar was created by Matthias Grünewald and was part
of the “Antoniten Kloster” (Cloisters of the Antoniten) until 1793. The altar was brought to Colmar afterwards and remains there until today. You can see it at the “Musée d’Unterlinden”.

We went to this museum and looked at the altar for several hours, which might be boring if you don’t know what all this is about, but Prof. Dr. Zerr did a little research and told us about the meanings of “almost every” little detail. Very interesting trip! This showed us, that closer looks are important and that information might be everywhere, you just need to find it! ;-)

Of course the dinner was very nice as well! Thank you very much for that!

Here are three pics of the altar. Enjoy!
